At the Airport Taxi drivers whose only purpose it seems is to rip you off
will confront you.
After the flight and immigration all I want to do is get to my hotel room and relax.
So instead of negotiating a ride from these guys its better if you take the escalator or stairs up to the departure level.
You will be able to get a metered taxi here and a cheaper ride into the city.
![]() Its a good idea to restrict conversation to a minimum with Taxi drivers and don't pay the fare until you have your luggage out of the vehicle
The best place to stay in Manila is at the Townhouse in Tambo, Paranaque.
It's close to the Airport yet surprisingly quiet
The fare from the Airport should be no more than 100 pesos.
Rooms range in price from 350 to 1000 pesos ($7 - $20) per night. The best rooms
at 350p are the singles on the third floor beside the rooftop garden. The third floor has been redecorated recently and all the rooms feel more homely. The communal landing with bay windows is great for cooling down when the rooms get too hot.
FACILITIES INCLUDE ...
AIR CON
FAN AND DORMITORY ROOMS
RESTAURANT & BAR
LAUNDRY
INTERNET ACCESS / PHONE / FAX
LUGGAGE STORAGE
SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX
ROOFTOP GARDEN
AIRPORT TAXI
The staff at the Townhouse are genuinely honest and friendly. Take time out to get to know them and you will benefit from their friendship.

Keyhole Artist's policy is abhorrent of sex tourism. However the fact remains that a majority of the foreign visitors to the islands are attracted to the bars and clubs offering G.R.O (Guest Relations Officer) services. These places are foreign owned interests exploiting the poverty situation that exists in the Philippine Islands ... The girls that work for them are slaves ... treated to terrible cruelty at the hands of scum, held prisoner in the holding centers during daylight, only to be wheeled out under cover of dark to service the people who attend these fascist money laundering fronts.
![]() The inclusion of the piece about the LA Cafe promotes freelance sex workers ... (often students in need of a few dollars to supplement their studies). There's no Papasan (pimps) or dubious parties involved ... for more information about the sex trade in the Philippines its cause and effect
There is only one place to go after dark in Manila it's called the LA Cafe. Freelance girls come here looking for a boyfriend. There's great rock music, live bands, pool tables a restaurant and 3 bars to entertain you.

Jurassic is just across the road from the LA. It's not going to be as packed as the LA
so it's nice to chill out there
